Now I'm a summer girl through and through, BUT when it comes to Autumn there's something about the styling and clothing that just pulls me in and gets me so so excited to start pulling on cocoon style coats and beanie hats for that effortless chic look.

Every time Autumn comes around we all rush out to start the staple buying pieces like coats, boots and scarfs. Most of my new additions this year have come from the highstreet favourites, with Topshop, Whistles, Zara and I'd also include ASOS, all bringing it with the cold-weather wear to the point where my list and shopping bag just keeps growing and growing.

I personally think you always need a few blanket scarves to wrap yourself up on those bitterly cold days and also a normal scarf, I always find myself heading to Zara as they bring it when it comes to scarves. This season as well pointed shoes are everywhere, to flat pumps and boots. I love a good boot with a heel also as I just feel so much more chic and put together whether I've just thrown on a tee and jeans, the heeled boots just pull it all together for me.

Midi skirts are good for milder days, especially if like me you aren't a huge fan of tights and I love this ribbed 'salt and pepper' grey skirt from Topshop which I love pairing with my Adidas superstars and just a white tee, but I also have my eye on a few A-line skirts which are huge this season which I suck up and wear tights with. Also coated jeans which are a slight nod to leather jeans put not making the full plunge I think really change an outfit and I can see them being a staple in my Autumn / Winter wardrobe this year, makes me feel very Millie Mackintosh. Whistles always bring it with their slogan tees, whether its the cut, the actual slogan itself or the colour and this seasons khaki edit is just amazing and the quality is so worth it.

For a bit more of a dressy piece is also a nice sparkly long sleeve top, that I've seen many people wearing this season and again just adds a little somethin' somethin' and I would even say is my favourite piece this season so far. Topshop have brought a few varieties out which I'm finding hard to stop myself from 'collecting them all'. Lastly you need a good jacket and a leather jacket is a must-have in anyones wardrobe for the milder days and also I'm in love with cocoon / slouchy style coats this season for that effortless but pulled together look and with a beanie to cover those bad hair days and protect against the harsh bitter winds, you can't go wrong.
